What We'll Cover

Living Trusts vs. Complex Trusts

Learn the differences between Wills, standard Living Trusts, and Complex Trusts, including why some families may benefit from a more customized Complex Trust rather than a one-size-fits-all Living Trust. We'll also cover the critical role of Powers of Attorney in safeguarding your future.

New Tax Laws in Effect This Year

We will give you information about the new tax rules, and we will discuss options that may be available for you to LEGALLY minimize taxes with certain types of Complex Trusts which will benefit individuals, married couples and small business owners.

Common Estate Planning Mistakes

- The beneficiary rules have changed, and we will explain that if you name a beneficiary on your retirement account, life insurance, bank accounts or investments, the person you name as the beneficiary MAY NOT END UP WITH THE ASSETS.

- Will your home be protected if you go into a nursing home? In the workshops, we will explain what you may be able to do (legally) to protect your home and other assets by using the right type of Trust.

- What are the dangers of having CHILDREN listed on BANK ACCOUNTS AND INVESTMENTS. We will explain why it may be EXTREMELY DANGEROUS to do this type of re-titling or gifting, and we will explain about legal options to plan for possible disability without triggering tax problems and other negative consequences.

Special Tax Benefits under the New Laws:

As a result of new laws that are now in place, people who have rental property, small businesses, or greatly appreciated assets (such as land or financial investments) may be able to save tens of thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of dollars in federal and state taxes simply by having the right type of Trust in place. We will explain in the Workshops why it has never been more important to understand the tax planning options that are available.

Are one of these Workshops for you?

In the classes, we will address questions like:

Why do so many people use Trusts instead of Wills?

How do different Complex Trusts work (such as TBE Trusts, CPT Trusts, Access Trusts, Legacy Trusts, MIDGTs, BDOT, and more)?

You want to avoid confusion and ensure your final wishes are followed. How can a Complex Trust help minimize taxes and protect family members from problems like divorces, lawsuits, bankruptcies, and creditors’ claims?

What TYPE of Trust is best for your situation?

If I have a trust, is my old trust out-of-date?

And, much more.
